A Guide to the Stages of Development

The stages of development are strictly adhered to in terms of delivery and pricing for the Project, no matter how large or small. These are fully outlined in any Brief supplied to a Client of ours, but are outlined in general below:

Stage 1: Commencement of Work, provision of Drafts to be approved by the Client):
Purpose: The Client is expected to provide a downpayment to commence Services, and a Draft is produced.
Comission of work to be implemented, with the deliverables at the end of Stage 1 comprising: Drafts of work, which may possibly include basic functionality of the site. But, the major emphasis here is obtaining a good working overview of the navigation, how the content is placed in context of the overall design, and this will provide a sound basis about where the site is intended to go from here. Drafts are typically submitted in a series of Graphical Layouts, which are mockups of the intended design and 'flow through' of the Site. No programming is specifically undertaken at this point, although planning for this side of things is certainly taking place over the entire course of Stage 1. The Draft Mockups are forwarded to the Client who is expected to approve or amend the current course and direction. Stage 2 is about commencing the functionality once the layout has been approved.
