A Guide to the Stages of Development |
 |
The stages of development are strictly adhered to in terms
of delivery and pricing for the Project, no matter how large
or small. These are fully outlined in any Brief supplied to
a Client of ours, but are outlined in general below: |
 |
|
 |
PRE-DEVELOPMENT — Scoping the Project
All work is scoped out according to your specifications.
This includes design, programming, hosting and domains where
applicable to your website. We are happy to work with either
an existing designer or web coder if you have one already.
You will be provided a Project
Brief and Quote for Services
at this stage.

Stage 1: Commencement
of Work, provision of Drafts to be approved by the Client
We will produce a draft of the project/web site, prior to
commencing the full implementation. This gives you, our client,
the chance to see the flow of your site, and potential problems
can be ironed out at an early stage before we finalise the
design. These drafts are provided as PDFs, or a series
of Graphic Layouts, and will seek to demonstrate a typical
user flow through the site.

Stage 2: Finalising Design, Commencing
core Functionality
We commence the final work on your design and programming
specifications, and the site is now officially in "pre
release" status. Once completed, you will have a working
website, and this gives you the chance to see it in working
form prior to release.

Stage 3: Final Form: Design, Functionality and
Site Management are all brought together.
Once signed off, all the site is brought together for release
status: this means your site management tools will be all
operational, the design has been completed and integrated
into the programming and management aspects of the site. It
is now ready for public release.

All Clients are expected to supply any material
asked for in a timely manner as part of the typical development
cycle. |
 |
Typically this would include, but is not necessarily limited
to, branding elements, company logos etc, colour decisions,
content documents, and other materials that may be required
to carry out the Project effectively.
A delay by the Client in supplying relevant material
necessary to a Project will delay any timely release by us
of the Project concerned.
Be aware that effective Site and/or Applications
development relies on good communication, across all areas
of the Project, throughout the entire process of development
and release to the public. We also urge prospective Clients
to be aware of the fact that endless revisions are simply
not going to be done: we will hand you ample opportunity
to revise, within reason, and that is simply being fair to
all concerned. Changing certain things in your website if
implemented professionally is NOT the same as you doing a
cut-and-paste in a Microsoft Word document. |
